How to stop that night snacking habit

It was easier to stick to your diet during the day when you are up and about your daily rendezvous at the office.Trouble checks in at night when you are home alone, there’s always that tendency to cheat on your diet plan by eating unhealthy. It is worse if you happen to live with people who are not dieting and stock the house with treats.

Studies have shown you are likely to eat more at night when you can’t sleep or are too tired. It is especially hard for insomniacs to stop snacking on carbohydrates compared to other nutrients like fats and proteins. Here we have outlined a few diets that can help you stick to your diet plan even at night.

Fruits and vegetables

Replace your pastry and sweet tooth pantry with fruits and vegetables. You can snack on these as long as you like. Apples, oranges, and melons have minerals and sugars that will keep you full and most importantly healthy.

You can blend some fresh fruit juice or smoothies that will take you through the night. Vegetable salads are also good nighters. A carrot, lettuce, tomatoes and beetroot salad makes a good midnight snack.

Casein craving

Casein is great if you take it in ice cream or pudding after dinner. Casein is slow to digest so it might take some time before you start feeling hungry again. Add water to 1-2 scoops of casein and some yogurt to your pudding and place in the freezer for a few hours.

 Eat fiber filled foods

Fiber snacking is the ideal way to keep you from snacking all night. Fiber foods like sweet potatoes, apples, oats, and oranges slow down digestion of food that is good for stabilizing blood sugar and stopping cravings. And soluble fiber is good because it delays the emptying of your stomach and keeps you feeling fuller for much longer.

Have some celery, carrots, pears, etc. before hitting the sheets. You can make a pudding of these but be careful to stay away from processed sugars, fatty dressings, sweeteners or cheese. These will increase your calorie levels throughout the night. Remember to keep yourself well hydrated. Water has a good way to keep you full.

Hopefully, these tricks will help you to stop snacking at night and help you to stick weight loss routine effortlessly.
